First licensed to practice Real Estate by the State of Connecticut in 1987, Wayne D'Amico, is the third generation of a family tradition in real estate and construction. After graduating from New York University with a Bachelors degree in Real Estate & Finance and receiving NYU's Real Estate Institute "Diploma in Real Estate" with a concentration on Investment Analysis, D'Amico started Real Property Consultants (RPC) in 1989. In addition to being associated with real estate companies such as The Prudential and RE/MAX, D'Amico co-founded and was President of a property & construction management firm from 1990 to July of 1997 known as Real Property Management, Incorporated. During its operation, while primarily servicing distressed asset administrators, D'Amico experienced hands-on management of over 500,000 square feet of Commercial, Retail, Industrial and Apartment properties throughout the State of Connecticut.
D'Amico is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser. This is the highest license/certification offered by the State of Connecticut qualifying him to provide written estimates of value for all types of Real Property. D'Amico has qualified as an Expert Witness and given court testimony with regard to property valuation and has been a course instructor on Commercial Real Estate topics.
In 1996, D'Amico earned the CCIM designation as a Certified Commercial Investment Member of the CCIM Institute. The CCIM designation is awarded to commercial real estate professionals upon completion of a graduate-level curriculum and attainment of a level of qualifying experience involving several millions of dollars in transaction volume. CCIMs are recognized experts in commercial real estate brokerage, leasing, asset management, valuation, and investment and market analysis, and form a business network encompassing 1,000 markets throughout North America, Europe and the Caribbean. Of the estimated 80,000 commercial real estate practitioners in North America, less than 8,000 or 1% currently hold the CCIM designation.
The Chicago-based CCIM Institute is an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors and is the governing body of the largest commercial real estate network in the world. D'Amico served as the 2002 President of the Connecticut CCIM Chapter, the 2002-2003 1st Vice President for Region 11 of the CCIM Institute, responsible for Connecticut, New England and New York Chapters and was the 2003-2004 Vice President of Region 11. D'Amico was elected to his first 3 year term on the CCIM Institute Board of Directors for 2005.
D'Amico was a Member of the 2003 Charter Class of the Jay W. Levine Leadership Development Academy and serves on various Committees and Task Forces for the CCIM Institute on a national basis. D'Amico has been appointed as '04-'05 Chairman of the Member Services Committee and the Advanced Education Program Board, the '05-'06 Cultural Diversity and CCIMNet Advisory Boards and is '04-06 Co-Chair of the Knowledge Management System Task Force. D'Amico is also an active member of the CCIM Institute President's New York City Task Force working to improve the Institutes presence in the New York City Metropolitan area.
